For persons with intermediate knowledge of filmmaking who wish to take their knowledge to the next level and create a collaborative film. Unlock the doors to creativity with the Script to Screen Lab, an exhilarating month-long cinematic adventure meticulously crafted to enrich your grasp of the filmmaking process. Immerse yourself in a journey that spans Monday to Friday, from 11:00 to 17:00, with exclusive access to the studio and equipment even after hours and during weekends.

    • Week 1: Igniting Ideas

Embark on our cinematic odyssey with a dynamic brainstorming session, where creativity knows no bounds. The top two ideas, chosen collectively, become the bedrock for our scriptwriting phase. Guided by our expert instructors, you’ll craft compelling narratives that will form the backbone of your films. This will be augmented by a directing workshop that will guide you toward understanding how to think like a director in order to maximize your storytelling.

The workshop shifts gears as teams form, each dedicated to shooting one of the scripts. With the backing of our experienced instructors and in collaboration with Solo Films, you’ll gain hands-on experience, and all the necessary equipment and resources will be at your fingertips to seamlessly bring your visions to life.   • Week 4: Crafting Cinematic Masterpieces

Post-shooting, the journey continues in the editing room, where you’ll refine and polish your films into cinematic masterpieces. By the end, not only will you possess practical filmmaking skills, but you’ll also have two completed films ready to showcase your newfound expertise.

Final Day: Screening of your films in the presence of a visiting established filmmaker

Level: Intermediate, persons with more than basic knowledge of filmmaking

Date: July 15 to July 26 (10 Sessions total) + 2 or more weeks for you to shoot and finish your film.

Time: 

    • Week 1 and 2 from Monday to Friday 11:00 to 17:00. 
    • Week 3 Filming at your own pace until August 
    • Week 4 Post production at your own pace with the final sessions on August 22 & 23 (With the possibility of extending this deadline so you may have more time to focus on your film)

Samer Beyhum

Samer Beyhum is a Lebanese-Canadian polymath, excelling as a filmmaker, writer, director, editor, sound engineer, post-production specialist, technician, artist, and vegan chef. With a rich history of socially engaged cinema and a diverse body of work, Samer’s award-winning films tackle pressing social issues with authenticity and depth. His versatile interests extend to innovative pedagogy methods, socially relevant content creation, and the artistry of vegan cooking, embodying a holistic approach to education and ethical living. Through his creative endeavors, Samer inspires audiences worldwide to envision a more compassionate and inclusive future.

Rym Zawk

Rym Zawk, who is also known by the name Ré, is a Lebanon-based multipotentialite Artist. Graduated from the Lebanese University of fine Arts with a Cinematic background of Film and Visual Arts, recognized for her dominant visual expression, non-conforming to one medium; had also become a self-taught digital illustrator afterwards. Experienced in the Film industry for around 10 years; navigated the various positions within the directing department from script supervising to on-ground assisting the director’s vision to come into reality. Rym is passionate about the creative play that can occur in the choice of cinematic language, and it’s effect on the viewer’s psyche.
